When in France
I really need a change of scenery once in a while, and traveling helps with that. It brings me such joy to see all this beauty our world has to offer. I am sure most of you share these feelings. A few
weeks ago, I was really lucky, and got invited to travel to France with my boyfriend. I happily accepted this generous offer. The most adorable city awaited me: Strasbourg. It is one of the coziest cities I have ever been to, and it's just the right place for a romantic, little weekend getaway. One thing you'll notice right away, is this city's beautiful architecture.
When you stroll around the cute little streets, you can’t help but feel like you are in the middle of a perfect French fairy tale. And guys, let me tell you about the food. It is sooo good! Comfort food at its best! There are lots of rustic, old fashioned wine bars called ‘’winstub’’ as well as a wonderful variety of fine dining restaurants.
No matter if you are a lover of haute cuisine or if you like it rustic, and down to earth you will find the perfect little restaurant that suits your needs. Here are two places I recommend. The first one is called ‘’Perles de Saveurs’’. This restaurant created the most delicious fine dining experience for me, and my man without being snobbish or overly pricy.
They served me the best fish I ever had, alongside dreamy truffle mashed potatoes, and perfectly steamed veggies. The other place I really love is ‘’Chez Tante Liesel’’. It is a really rustic, cozy, little place that offers super yummy down to earth comfort food. It is hard to get a spot there, so making a reservation quite some time in advance is a must.
Oh, and don’t get me started on the amazing bakeries. They are a dream come true for every sweet tooth. While exploring the city, I stumbled upon the cutest, tiny street ever: Rue du Chaudron. It’s the one you see in the picture: Doesn’t this ancient beauty look like it belongs straight into a fairy tale? I really loved this trip so much.
If you enjoy staying at unique, and intimite boutique hotels, I truly recommend this charming little hotel I stayed at: ‘’Le Bouclier D’or’’. It is absolutely adorable. I can’t wait for the next time I return to this magical French city. It has really stolen my heart. Vive la France! Thanks for reading, and have a good night guys!
